Overview

The H&K Group, Inc. is searching for the ideal Infrastructure Field Technician Assistant! The Infrastructure Field Technician Assistant ensures that infrastructure and communication devices such as security cameras, land line phones, ethernet connections and two-way radios work properly by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reviews work orders to move, change, install, repair, or remove data communications equipment such as modems, cables, and wires and other DATA Equipment.

Reads technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment.

Measures, cuts, and installs wires and cables both AC and DC.

Splices wires or cables using industry standards.

Installs and repairs communication and data equipment at various locations

Disassembles equipment and inspects and tests wiring to locate and repair problem.

Modifies equipment in accordance with user request.

Tests communication lines to ensure that specifications are met.

Reads messages on computer screen to verify that data is being transmitted between locations according to specifications.

Plans layout and installation of data and communications equipment.

Demonstrates use of equipment and tools.

Installs and maintains security systems, conference systems, and data systems

Installation of Conference Room AV Systems including ceiling mount projectors.

Must be able to lift 70LBS and place and use ladders including extension ladders.

Qualifications

This is an entry level position. On the job training will be provided. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience

High School Graduate; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Power Point Ability to use standard office calculator, copier, and printer.
